stock axles?????????????????
Ive heard someone say they actually ran 500+hp on stock axles during track times....and it just depends on how you drive...but not sure bout daily driven...
Better to be safe, than sorry, IMO. I personally would rather spend some more money now on stronger axles. Rather than be at the track, snap my axle and scrape my exhaust and transmission on the ground. Spend more now to spend less later.

Scrape Exhaust & trans on the ground? I think that would have to be a hell of a break !!! When I see people snap axles, they just cant drive, it shouldnt drop anything.
I have 290 WHP, and I have never changed my axles even once. I used to race it alot, but now its really just a street car for weekends. Its going to depend on a couple things...
1. How hard you take off.
2. If you have an upgraded clutch & sticky/wide/heavy wheel& tire setup.
3. if you race alot
I run 205/50s on the street (azenis) and 22*8 Mickey thompson slicks on the track.(stage4 clutchmaster as well) I find myself spinning a little bit sometimes off the start even with the slicks, that prob has saved my axles.
by the way, my car has had this setup for about 20k miles. I say ride the stock ones conservatively unless you think you really want to beat them up. One of the advantages of having so much power, is that you dont really need to drop the clutch and powershift so much unless you are trying to squeak an extra tenth out.

my buddy snapped both front axles at the track one time, he ended up tearing up his transmission, exhaust and oil pan on the ground. maybe it was a freak accident, but that's what I was going off of. Maybe it was completely inaccurate to most axle breaking situations.

He was launching hard on street tires
He was launching hard on street tires
thats must have been a slamed *** car or a weak suspension. ive never heard of a axle breaking and the car hitting the ground because the axle have nothing to due with the car staying up
one of my friends has a 92 bubble laying down 600whp and he runs stock axles. never broke one yet and he races it all the time. he launches on 25" slicks at 8K rpms and no problems so far. cars been running hard for over a year with no axle problems
