fixing hydrolocked engine.
So my buddy offers me his b18c1 obd2 engine and ecu for 500canadian. and I was like why so cheap. He then told me that his car was parked on his street when it got flooded so he tried to move it and the engine died and now it wont start. My question is, is there any way of fixing this engine w/o doing a complete rebuild?
pull it apart and see what all is wrong with it first. when i locked mine up i actually "disenigrated" a piston head and the rod was slapping around on the inside of the block put three good size holes in the block. good luck man.
sometimes its as simple as taking the plugs out, unpplugging the dizzy, and turning the motor over to push the water out of the cylinders, then changing the oil... other times you hear stories like the ones above... so just check it out first... you might get a steal
I didn't mean that in a bad way either. If every swap was only that cheap. Spend $2k to build the motor, and you will still end up better than buying a good na that isn't locked.

freakin aaaa. regardless of how extensive the damage is, most ppl would kill to get a gsr motor that cheap. Shiiii I wouldn't mind building it up for about the same price it wouldcost me to get a stock motor
thats a good comment but theres no point in droppin in 500 bux to get something that cant be fixed and that yuo can get scrap metal price back is there?

Ummm, get a new block.

Seriously, if you can get a GSR motor for $500, and still have to get a new block for lets say another $500, you are still at least 2k ahead as opposed to getting a normal stock swap. Plus you rebuild it while the block is out of the engine.

ok, so that didn't make sense, but it will be easier with the bottom end out.
