****H22 IN CIVIC WON'T GO IN 2ND AND 4TH @ HIGH RPMS****
I have tried almost everything. I have an H23 with an H22 Tranny. The tranny just got rebuilt, and new parts were installed, so I know thats not the problem. On regular driving, it's perfect. if I rev it to like 7k rpm, it's ok but if I go past that, It will not go in to 2nd or 4th. I have a stage 5 clutch masters and i tried Adjusting the pedal and the clutch hundreds of times, but no luck. I even got a new shift linkage, but the problem still there... I really need some help, thanks in advance!!!!
I have that problem from time to time too. You just need to slow down the shift a little, or try some synchromesh. Damn H tranny...
I know the feeling, but you have to force yourself to slow it down a little on the shifts. I used to shift my car like I would shift a tranny with linkage and basically force it into gear in the 1/4, but 3 sets of shift cables later, I figured out what speed to shift at. A forbidden shifter helps too (its weighted, and has a great feel to it). The synchro's in that tranny just don't like high rpm's.
werd.. Thats cool, I was just pissed because two weeks ago it was perfect, it just started to do this last week, my best time was 12.1 in a quarter and now with this shitty problem is going 12.9, I feel like Im going backwards. I was thinking of a B series tranny, Have you heard about this? I guess they have an adapting plate for it.
yeah, the cheapest i've seen the adapter plate for is $900 though. you need to replace the tranny mount, half shaft, axles, linkage (meaning replacing the metal you cut out for the prelude shifter). Its a hell of a lot of work, but it would haul ***. if you are not running synchromesh yet, give it a shot.

I just did that. It still does the same, I was thinking, matbe a different clutch or something... Stage 5 clutchmasters has no Springs... will that make a difference?? just wandering
try some gm syncromeshe or however u spell it, ive never had this problem and i have a 4 puck unsprung ACT clutch, the motor was ina hatchback for over a year now its in my ferio and still runs great, try that let it set into your syncro's for like a week or so but if that doesnt work i would think u need to crack that tranny open again
You might want to check your presure plate, The fingers on the presure plate that the throw out bearing pushes on will cause this problem sometimes the fingers get A groove worn in them and doesn't allow for good clutch engagment at high rpm's and it cause the throw out bearing to get hung up in that groove.
ahh the dreaded h series trannies. i have the same problem but in 3rd. its all about timing, and how u make your shifts as everyone has said. good luck.
