Default Suspension help for '98 civic 4dr - B&G VS TEIN FLEX VS GC/Koni Yellows

Hi All, I need some suspension help. I do fast and hard canyon driving as well as daily driving with my '98 civic 4dr. I need the best possible shock setup for under $1500. The B&G claim a smooth ride, anybody try these? How about the TEIN FLEX? How will these compare to the apparently proven GC/Koni Yellow setup?

I want a smooth ride but am willing to ge my kidneys beat up a bit for performance. Also I will not be lowering the care much as I am in the canyons and hit a lot of downhill decreasing radius turns with dips in them... The suspension I want would be able to handle that extra load without hitting fender etc.

Also should I get 15x6.5s or 16x7s to go with these (probably Rota Slipstreams)? 16s look great but which is better for canyon road handling?

polishrifle and/or 00R101 I would love to hear from you as you have givin very sound advice in the past.

Thanks to any help.

B&G: never heard of
Koni/GC: Although I don't know the GC springs, I used to have a koni yellow / custom racing spring setup on my CRX. Hard as nails combined with the ES bushings. Basically, too hard for a DD. Drop depended on the length of the springs.
Tein Flex: on my EK. love it. these things can be length adjusted without comprimising spring travel. Great for DD and truely hold their own in 'spirited conditions'

plus the possibility for easy dampersetting changes with an EDFC... no regrets on blowing the cash for the flex!

about grip... 15s give more bounce and depending on the roads you drive, they might be your best choice. I'm on 16s myself, and tyres with very strong sidewalls, more meant for heavy street / track use... not sure if they'll be this good with the weightshifting those dips will do to the car

You can get the Rota Slipstreams in 15x7 and I'd go with a 205/50/15 tire. I'm on the Kumho Ecsta MX tires right now and they're super sticky. Sorry I can't help you with the suspension...I'm on Sprint sport springs and KYB AGX shocks.

Thanks, I didn't realize they came in a 15x7. I think this is proper for my driving conditions.

Anybody else on the 15"vs16"?

Thanks again simonweiss
