Default D16 opinion

i am still trying to figure out what kind of motor set up i wanna do i am looking toward either a sohc vtec or a mini me and rebuilting the bottom end. i have a D16a6 now. i was wondering if it would be worth building a mini me or just getting a sohc vtec. i dont really know the hp difference between a sohc vtec and a mini me. if someone could give me some pros and cons that would be good. and if i were sticking with the mini me what head would be the best to use z6 or y8? also i was looking at domed pistons and in the magazine i was looking in they only had z6 and y8 ones im pretty sure they are the same a a6 ones if not let me know. one other thing i know a mini swap bumps conpression i was wondering if i went with the domed pistons would they hit the valves or is there still enough clearance?

an a6 minime will have slightly higher compression than a regular sohc vtec, assuming you use a newer headgasket. it also has the girdle on the crank and stuff like that. i think it's the best d series stock bottom end honda made, other than maybe the rods.

d16y8's, in comparison, are notorious for oil problems.
