Default EG SI vs. non-SI

I am currently looking at both an EG cx and an SI. This will be a daily driver so im wondering if you guys think the added 2/10ths of a second on the quater will be worth having power sterring, a/c, etc. My plan is to swap a b-series into the car. Also is 3,500 a decent price for an SI in pretty good condition and is mostly stock? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Also will about the same amount of weight come out of the Si with stripping or are there things you can remove to get it down closer to a cx/dc?

If you are going to swap a b-series into it, why get the car with the better motor (probably more expensive). But, I beleive the si came with rear discs depending on the year. If you are going to replace that stuff though, just get the cx if it's cheaper.

Get the CX...it's cheaper and lighter...and if you are planning on swapping the engine...get the CX

SI's have rear disc, better interior, and a few creature comforts. But yeah if your swapping in a B series then you could just do a CX...... I got the Si and did a JRSC, its cheaper than a B16 and it puts out more power. I got mine used for $1k. Runs perfect.

Hehehe then he be paying like $3500-$4000 for a 200 whp car, Where as I paid $1k for a 160whp car. Hehehe not to mention if he blows up the d series its only $500 for a new one with a tranny. Whats the b16's.... like $2500? Hehe if I could afford a B series Id have one probably, but for the time being I am happy with my D.... not to mention Im getting 35mpg with the JRSC.

i have an si..i like the power steering, a/c, rear disc brakes, sunroof, and power mirrors. yes it weighs down the car but oh well. i had a cx before with b16, and it was faster than an si with b16 cuz of the weight...

so it's your choice, convinience vs. weight...

oh yeah, 3500 seems a bit much for an si...

what year, how many miles, color, clean title, how's the motor?

I love my SI....cus it has power steering, sun/moon roof, rear disc and yes better interior.

I just cant stand the non power steering cars though.

Well its a 93 with 177k miles on it. clean title, good paint, and idk about the engine but ill take it somewhere to be inspected first and try to get them to do a compression test.

Also if i decide to turbo a d-series what kind of numbers can i look for on stock internals? I might just have to boost the d till it blows and swap in a new one if its only like 500. Although i am a big time noob, so i guess we will see.

Offer them $2k I got my 93 SI with new red paint ( it was only on there for 2 weeks hehe) and 130k for $3k even. Its really hard to find a clean civic around here (Rust).
