Scratch on my bumper
Unfortunatelly, I have scratched the bumper of my R
. The scratch is bigger than some stone chips, do you think that I can correct this scratch with a touch up paint? I don't know if the "touch up paint" is OK in English, I mean the little paintbrush with a CW color. I am a bit worried that the color layer made by the paintbrush will make bumps on the surface. If so, should I somehow grind and then polish it?

"touch up paint" is the correct term we use also. However i dont think i would touch that up. Me..being as **** as i am i would have the whole thing resprayed if the blemishes were deep enough and wont buff out. Should you use touch up paint its going to be very rough looking b/c of the texture caused by the incident!

Leave it, it adds character
In all seriousness, if you want to save some cash, see if a local bodyshop can do what we call here a "blend" basically just fix that portion of the bumper. It may not look top notch, but it won't be as noticeable..

. I wanted to hide my R as much as I can before I leave on my holiday, and I went to the wall too much, so my stupidity
. I was swearing on myself about 2 hours after this happened...

I don't mind scratches that much but since this bothers you I'd have a collision/body shop have them touch it up. Or if your good with an airbrush...
I just found this stuff... never heard of it before :

what would a body shop do ? simply use a "finer" brush than the one that comes along with a bottle of CW touch up paint ? YOu're looking at a few hundred to have the whole bumper painted and color matched, just touch it up yourself, it will not look the best, but it won't be noticeable unless your eyes are fixed on that specific area.
Get a touch up paint. Do not use the brush that comes in the touch up paint can. Use the pointy ends of toothpicks to cover the scartch. Yeah, it take longer, but it comes out better.

First of all that scratch is more of a gouge. there are slight indentations in the bumper that will be very noticeable if u just touch them up. The best thing to do is take that bumper off, use an Orbital sander(DA) and some of the sandpaper that is on a sticky roll. Get some 320 grit of that, and smooth out the roughness, then you can primer that spot where the bumper is down to the plastic. Then hand jive that primer spot with 320 and then 500 and gray scuff pad to the whole bumper. Then make sure u mask up the bottom grill piece in the back bumper and some new CW paint(NH-O) and ur all set.
As far as "blending" goes, a body shop would sand down that affected area and the surrounding areas, and when they paint it, the base is laid on where its needed and they fade it out lightly into the existing paint, and then clear the area doind the same thing.
