air/fuel ratio wiring
I think you're referring to a wideband o2 sensor setup? Those setups give you an ACCURATE, real-time reading of your air fuel ratio.
The ones that wire into your stock o2 sensor are just blinking lights that really don't do ****.

well what kind is this? I need the good **** you speak of. the sensor for the gauge is autometer part number 2244. its like $91.00. but it just looks like an 02 sensor.
is that the good ****?????

heres the sensor i speak of:

That's narrowband junk. It's useless except at 14.7:1 AFR.
If you want to tune anything on your car at all, get a wideband. Narrowband gauges can show you if you are richer or leaner than 14.7:1, but they can't tell you how much.

I'm new at this **** so bear with me. can u explain 14.7:1 afr.
should I get the wideband? or don't need it?
my set up will be:
b16
t3/04E
10 psi

who makes a good wideband and where to get it??

you don't because its worthless. Get a wideband if you want to monitor afr's.

14.7:1 is the air fuel ratio that your ecu gets your engine to run at during cruising closed loop conditions by reading data from the stock o2 sensor. Thats about all its good for is keeping you at 14.7:1 in closed loop...at WOT 14.7:1 is not good in boost

Zeitronix is a bit expensive.
I like PLX with the external gauge. Innovate makes a really nice unit also, just kinda bulky.
Poke around the Forced Induction section of the vendor forums, they always have a nice selection of widebands.

you dont have to get the lcd. I paid $288 for the software, sensor, harness and interface. I use a laptop to view my a/f ratio.
honestly thier is no need to view your a/f ratio unless your tunning. once it tunned it will stay the same unless something happens and a gauge will not prevent that from happening. I view mine once a month when I do my checks and services.

You do have a point, but you can always tuck the gauge away like I did, in the glove box, so I can check it whenever I want to.
I'm just saying that if you do want a display, then you may want to look elsewhere than Zeitronix. But it does have some great features.
