Triggering MSD 6AL off ECU?
I have a question that I know someone will be able to answer here. I have an MSD 6AL box and blaster SS coil in my car. My question is reguarding triggering the MSD box directly from the ECU. I'm using a chipped P28 if that matters. I don't want to run any wires into the bay (shaved engine bay). I have my coil mounted under the dash using a coil thru firewall adapter. This is my wiring so far:
Thick red and black: Battery (+) and (-)
Thin orange and black: SS coil (+) and (-)
Thin red: Switch 12V source
Thin white: I have this ran to pin A21 on the ECU (IGP1). This is the yellow/green wire that goes into the distributor to the ignitor for ignition input signal. In stock cases it comes off the other side of the ignitor and goes to the coil which I don't have internally anymore. Would this work hooking the MSD to this instead of running into the bay and to the distributor? Reason I ask is because I haven't dropped the engine in yet and want to be sure of all the wiring. Thanks in advance.
