Default so i got my jdm armrest eliminator right....

and i didnt get teh damn jdm bracket with it, soo heres my problem. how do i take out the the us bracket(pink)? do i unbolt the 2 ebrake bolts(teal) and it slips out from under? once i do this do i need to put a spacer of some sort underneath or am i ok? is there a trick to taking the bracket out?

of course am gonna have those carpet slits, so i guess ill do a little sewing.(ghetto) ive searched and all the threads say is "take it out" but doesnt really say how to. hopefull i dont have to take off my seat for needed slack on the carpet.

Just bend the bracket a little, it slides right out from one of the carpet slits. I did this and then put the JDM one on and that's it, you really can't even see there are slits in the carpet. No need to remove seats or sew up the slit.

I'm sorry, let me explain a little better.......remove the 2 bolts(Teal), then bend the bracket(Pink), it helps to bend the 2 ends of the bracket outwards, then you work it out of the slit.....then put back the 2 bolts and your done.

oh and when you are going to put the cover on be careful with the rear pegs that go into that new bracket, they don't like going in there...

i didnt have a jdm bracket to use, it jus sits there. welll i took ur a advice and bent the sides down and pull them out, i think i stretched the carpet a little bit though. anyways, the slits were big and very noticeable, so i took out my needle and thread and put my sew skills to work.

obviously the didnt turn otu too bad, but thats because the carpet is fluffy, otherwise it would look like ****.

when i took off those 2 bolts, one of the bolts fell back behind and under the carpet, i ahd to fish for it for like 15mins haha. When i went to put it back on i couldnt get the holes pulled back enough for the bolts to thread in. . I kinda had to force them so the somewhat crossthreaded... its nice and tight so no worries, luckily they didnt snap

heres the finished pics, easy to do and im pretty happy with it, feels weird to have nothing to rest my arm on. Why did i do it? because my armrest was fading and gettin dirty, and lookin at the holes where the badge use to be got irritating so out it goes.

Well, you did a very good job. I guess I'll have to look at my slits again, but I don't remember them standing out. *Shrug*

nice job.

the only thing I dont like is that you lose that storage space in the middle, where the parking brake lowers. I use it to put change in. Its handy, but I definitly like the no armrest look.

haha yeah, i just had it lying around and then i thought "hmm" lol

the only reason why i got it was because i had jdm recaros, and the adjuster **** would hit onto the arm rest..there's so much room now. i actually wanted to keep my arm rest because i can't use my glove box anymore (cage).
