Weird clutch/transmission problem?
Hi,
Yesterday on the way home from work I raced a 350z. During the race, I downshifted into 3rd ran it to redline and shifted into 4th, on the 3-4 shift it slipped BAD! and made a horribly pop noise. I put the car into neutral waited for the revs to climb down and attempted to put it into 5th. The car went into gear but when I let the clutch out, the rpms didn't rise or fall, they just acted like they were in netural, like the clutch didn't grab at all.
So I put it into 3rd, same thing, I'm thinking, crap, just grenaded the clutch. So I try light throttle and the clutch grabs, but just barely, anything over light throttle and the clutch slips. I limp the car home and pop the hood to check out the damage, hoping the clutch cable is snapped. To my dismay, its perfectly fine, so I'm pretty sure I need a new clutch.
The weird thing is I can put it in gear easy, and when I slowly let out the pedal it will start to catch without any throttle but it makes a horrible noise like a grinding and it smells like the clutch is burning.
So I have two questions. 1. Its for sure my clutch right? and 2. What clutch will I need? I have a 1989 crx hf with a integra b18a1 and unknown cable tranny. When I bought the car, the guy didn't know what transmission it was. All I know is that its a cable tranny that is very short geared, shorter then a gsr, that bolts to the integra b18a1.
cliff notes: Raced a 350z, blew up my clutch, wondering why it still goes in gear, what clutch I need for my car and how to identify my transmission.
Thanks, Adam

ur pressure plate sounds destroyed while ur at it u better replace ur poilot bearing too. any clutch kit should work unless u want to waist money act is what i had in my dx tranny but i had some power to back it up
