Are these compression test numbers ok?
did a compression test on my wifes 92 accord EX sedan, original everything. 240k on the odometer. maintenance done regularly, synthetic mobil 1 10w30, sea-foamed the engine about 1k ago for the first time (made a HUGE difference in running performance)
I got the following numbers.
cylinder 1 200
cylinder 2 190
cylinder 3 185
cylinder 4 195
are these numbers ok, or is the engine going bad and should i start to think about replacing it?
I've got a VTEC motor from a 97 accord I can put in there that I've had for a while, but want her engine to be on its last leg ebfore I do all that labor.
thanks

Do you have a Haynes manual or something? I won't be able to check Alldata until tomorrow morning. At least for the 95 f22b1 (sohc non-vtec) numbers should be between 135-185psi at 250rpm.....I had almost 200psi on a 10 year old engine with 113k on the clock. But there shouldn't be more than 28psi variance between cylinders.
What you look for in a compressio test is uniformity between cylinders. The repair manuals will specify an acceptable range (180-210) at a certain number of revolutions.
IE: 180 psi after 5 compression cycles
Your figures are acceptable for a surprisingly healthy 240 k
