2003 Civic - Dead...(Possible battery)
Hi,
I want to apologize ahead of time for being so ignorant, but I'm hoping I can get some help from the experts here.
I drive a 2003 Civic (not a hybrid) and this morning I went to start my car, but no response. Well, even before I went to start my car, I tried to open the locks with my remote control, absolutely no response. My first guess is the battery. I had absolutely no time to look at anything, even if I did have time, I wouldn't know where to look, besides the battery.
1. What could it be, besides the battery since the keyless entry doesn't even work?
2. If it is in fact the battery, how long does Honda cover their batteries? I bought the car brand new in August of 2003, so it hasn't been 2 years.
Again, I appreciate any and all help.

when you put the key in the ignition, does the instrumental lights light up or any light from the vehicle at all?
sounds like a battery to me. what exactly happens when you try to start the car?

It certainly does sound like the battery. Although you could call up Honda to see if it's covered, you'll have to bring the car in for diagnostics, and the first thing they'll likely to is charge the battery to see if that does the trick... and you'll be out a few extra bucks than if you just took the battery out yourself and charged it. Try *that* out, and see if it works (my money says "yes")
