Default cutting up air filter for turbo screen

yo what' sup HTers...i've been doing some research on screens for turbos...and i don't have a lot of room to pipe in a air filter....i've seen some post about using the screen from patio doors as their filter....so far none of the threads that i've read said to use an old air filter....well today i chopped up my old air filter and used a small piece and clamped it onto my turbo and i think it will work...is it a good or bad idea using an old air filter instant of a door screen...thanks

the screen actually reduces air flow to the turbo... the filter is a much better thing to do

A piece of the filter reduce air flow, but i dont think a screen will restrict anything. I've been running on a speaker screen for 5 months and nothing happen yet. But with the sc34, ill be using a filter for the peace of mind and so it not to close to the ground avoiding hydrolock
