What air filters are you guy's running on your turbo's
im just curious
i ve started building up my turbo kit and one thing i was thinking what air filter to use. i seen some k&n filters all bent, like getting sucked in the turbine. i also seen those spong honeycomb ones. then ive seen just a plain screen but thats out of the question, roads around here are messed up..
please post what air filter your running and do you clean it. if so how offten. or do you just buy a new one. i really dont want to have a shitty air filter and chance screwing up my seals

Well i know that over all shape has been dyno proven to be the most efficient (w/o filter, the gradual curving towards the center 'horn' shape) so im sure that this type of design would prove its self versus just a normal cone filter.
But of course its just speculation coming from me.

is it really that good. just need to justify to myself spending $90 on a filter

Not the best filter in the world, but all i had on my 60-1 turbo was a piece of screen from ace hardware with a big hose clamp

how the hell that happen? I read in another post also. thats strange
the HKS filter has a skeleton frame with a velocity stack design and then the foam and then the grill over the foam. so the foam is sandwich between the frame and the grill. no way to suck it in. unless you are using the immitation ones off ebay that only have the foam and grill.
but to be safe I a mesh and and put it before the filter in case it happen to mine

def wasnt a knock off...and it def sucked in part of the filter element...i have a torn up compressor wheel on my desk to prove it...
