ls b18b1
im buying a 94 civic with a b18b1 integra motor.. i was curious how do i convert that to a vtec??.. and if i do, when i buy parts in the future do i still buy them for the b18b motor or for the b18c since it would be vtec.
also i was wondering about a turbo.. i have read on some posts about "building" the block so it can handle the boost.. im sorry im a newb and have no clue what this means.. does it have to be done? also i have read u need new fuel injectors and a couple more things for the turbo to work.. any help is greatly appreciated!
have you tried searching ever? you can put a vtec head on your ls its called an lsvtec search it. you can use a b16 or gsr head but its more complicated than just slapping a head on there. since you dont know too much about honda motors i sudjest you just leave the motor non vtec and turbo it. again search you can learn alot. building the motor means useing stronger internal parts that will benifit to a tubo set up.
if you have an LS, slap a b16 or b18c head on it and you've got vtec. you're going to need a dowell kit [golden eagle makes them, I think skunk2 does too, not sure tho], an oil line, you'll have to tap your oil pan, prolly get a new ECU or have yours chipped. when you buy parts in the future, buy them for the application. head parts? get b18c or b16. block parts? get LS stuff. as far as the turbo stuff goes, you'd better hang around the FI forum and start reading. when people start talking about building blocks, they're talking about forged rods and low comp pistons, maybe sleeving the block, balancing/blueprinting, etc. I don't know sh*t about b-series, but I hope I helped ya out a lil
