I just completed a compression test on a 99 Honda Civic EX, stock internals, turbocharged since early 2000 with an F-Max turbo kit. The test was done at normal operating temperatures. Here are the results:
Cyl #1: 205
Cyl #2: 200
Cyl #3: 210
Cyl #4: 205
The needle on the gauge moved as follows for every cyl: 1st crank jumped to 90psi and then moved up gradually to the final number. Each cyl was cranked about 7 cycles. I know the numbers are high since the max is supposed to be about 184psi. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

they look good to me.it can take a couple cranks to get an accurate reading.i'd only be concerned if a cylinder never reached an acceptable number after a few cranks.
is there a reson for the test?any problems?
also, you need to read the rules posted at the top of this forum:

Those numbers are good how much are you boosting? To boost that engine since 2k that is good.

Thanks for the reply. There's a few reason for the test: the engine has been under boost since early 2000; sometimes, when I get on it hard, she blows a small white puff of smoke; I'm about to change the fuel/engine management to a stand alone one, get a new turbo (the current one has leaky seals), plus a few other things. I also believe that I have the D16Y8 main problem, head lifting. I have small traces of oil in the coolant reservoir. Pretty soon I'll be taking the head off to replace the head gasket and change the head bolts to ARP head studs. Sorry about the all caps title, it was late at night. It won't happen again!

Thanks! The boost is set as follows: low boost - 6 psi, high boost - 10 psi. Before the boost controller, it was set at 12-13 psi. The car only has 49K miles.
