Hey, was wondering if I could get some helpzo
I have a '97 SI(U.S.=EX) with a '98 JDM B16 running on a OBD2A P2T ECU. I'm getting throws of Code 20 Electrical load detector, and Code 23 Knock sensor. Also note that my Battery light is on. The car seems to run great.
Can anyone give me more insight into "Electrical load detector", what it is, and what could be causing me to get this code?
Also Code 23 Knock Sensor... Does it mean there's a knock in the motor, or that the actual sensor is dead?
Any insight is appreciated,
Thanks!

the electrical load detector is located inside the underhood fuse box.there is a test procedure for it,but i don't have any manuals here to get it for you.any shop manual will have this procedure.
i've only seen a knock sensor code when the circuit is open-if the wiring is broken.i've seen the sensor be dead, but it never threw a code.
have you tried resetting the ECU to see if the ELD code comes back?

checl for continuity from the knock sensor plug to the ECU plug.this will tell you if there's a break in the wiring.check the ECU pin and sensor plug oin to be sure they're fully setaed and not bent or broken.if all that checks out, there is a resiatnce spec for the knock sensor to test it.like i said above though,i think you'll find it's a wiring problem.
even an Auto Zone/Advance/Pepboys $10 shop manual will have the ELD and KS troubleshooting procedures.it's be a good investment.a Helm would be an even better investement.
