Default 195/50/15 or 195/60/15?

the 50 series tire would give the same height as stock (185/60/14, 22.7") there are 175/65/15 tires on right now. the front right was rubbing, but i bent the lip back so its okay now (will finish bending tonight, and knock out the dents with autobody tools). im gonna buy kumho escta 711 from tirerack (39 a tire) unless i find a deal locally. they are going on unknown 15x7 rims. car is lowered and shocks are blown. i will replace the shocks in 2 months (going to be moving next week and just bought this car). oh its an 88 crx si. thanks for your replies in advance. i will be ordering these tomorrow. any input will be appreciated

WOW 175/65/15s? alittle skinning aint it.
195/50/15 are fine. The 60's are a little too big.

Ill admit my knowledge on the offset you want with the crx is iffy, but Im going to guess youll want something in the +42 range.

Any particular reason you wanna go with 15x7's? Personally I use 15x6 (mr5's) for street use with 195 50 15 tires and 15x7 5zigens (+42) for track use. But this is on an eg. Was going to autox the 91 civic this Sunday with the 15x7's but I JUST blew a headgasket.

the 15x7s are what came on the car when i bought it. they are black with a polished lip, they look like they could be some old school rotas or something. i was about to buy some vx rims w/ stock tires to have as a second set, but the ones i was looking at sold quick on craigslist. i went ahead and ordered the kumho 711, 195/50/15. its slightly shorter then the stock tire 4% too fast said the tire calculator. but hopefully, it doesnt rub. one of the tires on currently is a 185/65/15 and it rubs either when the shock compresses quite a bit or when the wheel is turned completely to the right (front passenger tire). i just hope these tires last. im not much a dragger, but i do love corners and turns

not to hijack, but i just got a 88 crx si and it's got stock rims, but like 3 different sized tires, i know it originally came with the 185/60/14's but is there a better looking but just as functional size for the stock rims?

taller tires = taller gearing = lower rpm per mph = technically a mechanical disadvantage to rate of acceleration
