Typically, how long would a swap take?

Default Typically, how long would a swap take?

I have this DC2 that could be had for a great deal right now. It would be my main source of transportation. The current engine has TOO many miles on it and is problematic anyways. I was thinking of swapping in a K20a or an H22. I would like the job to be done at a shop and I was wondering how long would an average swap take. I need this car for school and work so I want to know how long I would be car-less. Another question, what are the best ways to go about obtaining a engine I want for the swap? Thanks!

if a shop is doing all the work then i would recommend you ask the shop how long its going to take. Not us. And the engine question can be answered by them too. More then likely you'd get a package deal anyway if you had the shop order the motor for you.

Those two things tells me why not just replace it with the engine you have originaly in the car? Less headaches, less down time, and a whole less money. If you want to experiment with the K20 be prepared to have a back up car because this swap is still in it's infancy. Work smarter not harder.

You can switch out a B18B/C yourself in a day. **** a shop.

It will be very simple to replace the stock motor. If the tranny is good too, you can save money by getting just the longblock.

Think smarter too.

Do you really want/need a H22/K20 if this how you get around? I daily drive a H22, but you never know what a shop will do.

It will take them longer to do either swap though, they aren't a daily event for most shops.

Also, do it yourself and just replace the B!
