Electronic Exhaust Cut-Out's
Any-1 running dual electronic exhaust cut-outs on there s2k? hows it sound, plz describe?
just wondering because typically it sounds bad *** on other cars and is cheaper then buying aftermarket full catback exhaust, although it probably wont yield many gains but im not looking for crazy power anyways

it's a cut-out right after the header or downpipe somewhat replacing the cat to allow you to run it open with a press or flip of a switch

It makes for a very LOUD exhaust sound that emmits from underneath the car...alot of LS1 and LT1 guys do this instead of turn downs or full exhaust system replacements...i personally think it sounds freakin' awful, but i can honestly say ive never heard anyone even mention it when it comes to an S2000, or any honda for that matter.

i had an open down pipe on my wrx. that thing was loud and you could hear the turbo spool like no other.

my friend has one on his integra it sounds very loud just imagen drag racing honda with open header and they start to leak and rattle after about a week so just buy a full exhaust system instead of that not worth it in my opinion
any honda run "open header" is extremely loud....
I drove under a bridge once open header, (heading to the exhaust shop) I though my glass was going to break it was that loud...
I can't imagine a V8 open header what that sounds like...

Just stopping in for no reason, My GN had cutouts, and it sounded beautiful. Of course, it was a turbo V6, so that may help. Honestly, cutouts do not replace an exhaust system, they are used for high power cars that need to run full open.
i ran open header, when i was puttin my testpipe on, and when you hear one honda open header.... they are all the same, no matter what engine... all four cylinders sound like **** open header (unless subaru)
its just that they are VERY loud, and raspy and you dont gain much hp if any on doing this, i mean it might seem like its faster but sometimes the louder it sounds the faster it sounds, if you understand that...
dont do it unless you are pushing way over the stock hp

Hey guys I just purchased and installed an electronic cut out system on my turbocharged B18C1 powered hatch today and I really love it! Yeah it is loud when open but it doesn't have to be that way all the time because it allows you to open and close it at the flip of a switch!!! I bought it because I'm running a stock exhaust in order to keep my car "low key" to the cops, but the stock exhaust is so so restrictive with a turbo I can only boost like 5psi, with this set-up the sky is the limit!! LOL!! So in my opinion if you don't need it for FI or race purposes then get a full exhaust. I got my system from Black Trax Performance in Milpitas California. They are a great group, are very helpful and offer a 1 year warranty on there system!!! give them a call: (408) 946-2900 hope this helps!!
