Default Who makes the best ignition upgrade?

What types of gains in numbers if possible have you seen or produced?

The only time i have seen it necessary is with forced induction or real high comp
ratio situations

Why do you want an aftermarket ignition system?
because it looks cool..

MASTER BLASER EXTERNAL COIL WILL GIVE YOU 1.9% more power and 3.2% more fuel economy...

Will
-with OEM high tension leads/fire generation system...

The first modification I did on my ITR, when I was young and naive, was the Jacobs Electronic ingnition system. Two days after the installation, the car would not start, I tried every spark plug gapping imaginable and it just would not start.
Three days after the installation, the ignition system was on it's way back to Jacob's Electronic for a full refund (minus shipping cost). As soon as I plug the stock ignition system back on the car started right away.

Conclusion: The first modification I did on my ITR was to give money to the shipping company.

Stay with stock

Electromotice TEC3 systems are supposed to be very good, but you better know what you're doing.

Is the Ultra MDI available in Canada? How much are they and how do they work? Is there a pre-set program that come with it for the ITR or I need to program it myself?

This is actually not available in Canada. The MDI uses your stock sensors inside the distributor for readings. These signals are processed and amplified finally arriving to the included direct fire coils. This eliminates the use of the weaker stock coil entirely and has a theory like the new Hondas where ther is no distributor. It is all plug and play and ready made for Honda application. There is no trick in installation. Results are better ignition, leaner air/fuel ratios, better economy, much smoother power delivery low end and large high end power difference (from my butt dyno). Please email me or IM me for a price.

The only thing I noticed with the Jacob's Pak was quicker revs, you can notice a small gain in high end power I suppose. I can't feel it anymore though, I hate it when that happens, then I keep spending money on modifications, then I'm broke.

Yeah for real! But I'll throw in my $.02 while I'm here.

The Jacobs system I had on an old 92 EG and it was junk! For the $$ MSD is the way to go. You will notice a little better throttle response but it's really not something to rave about.

I think it better works with a heavily boosted motor but on an N/A C5 I'd say you'd come out better buying a nice header.

Why not try asking a new question in the proper forum instead of bumping an old thread from 2002 that is in the ITR forum?

Obviously you have little to nothing in common with what the discussion was about (almost 10 years ago).
