Default more on the hondata manifold gasket

ok so could it be possible that the gasket serves no cooling purposes but when all the antifreeze is removed from the manifold that is what is showing the large temp differences?

so has anyone just looped the coolant lines back into the block and shown any cooler temps?

i have been told that the iac only needs cooling to keep it from freezing but what about the fast idle thermo switch - does it need coolant to function properly or would you just lose your fast idle when the car is cold ?

any info on this topic would be nice.

thanks - Jamie

the older gaskets had the coolant bypass hole still intact and it still made
a noticable difference.

the fast idle valve needs coolant to function properly so I just remove it
completely. Its not really necessary and it isnt even used on the newer cars.

So I can just drill a hole in the Hondata gasket to keep the coolant flow through?

Then what should I do with all those coolant lines? Just block it off? Actually, how many coolant lines I need to block off?

Then what are the other benefit for blocking the coolant line beside make it run cooler? Also, is there any disadvantage to it?

You will only have problems with cold start. But does it REALLY get THAT cold
in Ont?? Thats really cold. But once the car warms up its fine.
You could always just run coolant to the IAC if you worry about it that much.

What kind of problem I will have with cold start? It does get that cold here once in awhile, and I need my car everyday. You know, I don't want to call in to skip work because my modified ITR cannot start up due to too cold, but other people with a 91 Civic started up with no problem.
