Default 95 vtec prelude clutch/tranny question

a friend of mine is having trouble with his lude, and I wasn't sure what the problem might be. He tried calling honda, but they didn't want to speculate over the phone as to what might be the problem, so I was hoping someone here might be able to help. basically the gears will go into the gear box when the car is off, but once the car is turned on and the clutch is pressed you can't shift. and the clutch seems lighter than usual. Is this a burned out clutch, or could it be something else? Any input would be great, or if you need more info let me know. Thanks!

inspect the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder... i'll bet money that one of the two has failed...

thanks.. he checked it and found a small leak in the master cylinder, which explains the problem..
