My A/C made a groaning noise this past winter so I removed the belt and the tension pulley thinking it was the compressor. Now I want to get a new tension pulley and try it out. What model years are compatible with the 1992 5th gen. civic A/C tension pulley? Can I use a '96 or even a 2000 civic? I'm looking to get a later model tension pulley from a junkyard.

I searched and couldn't find anyone posting this kind of question.

 

I know 92-95 will work for that application. You might check online for pics to see if the tensioner pulleys for different years are compatible, but they are usually different in different years and models. Maybe try to find one in the classifieds or ask a local junkyard to search for one for you. I always check Ebay as well.
