Default Cat converters????

I have heard a bunch of things about diff cat converters, Now which has the least headaches and produces the best results for a reasonable price? (not crazy $$$ either)

Sorry if this has been posted before, but very shortly I'll be buying one to go with my JDM 4-1 header.

Thanks,

and if you could show me some pics too it would help.

yeah i read that a while back, but scince then i have heard nasty things about the carsound (falling apart/ welds not holding) i know some of you guys add some welds to it but is there any other cat that works good and has a bolt in fit?

Or just get the carsound and add some welds?

Second scince i don't have to use a cat (FL) can i get away with a test pipe or will i mess up some sensors?

You have a CEL with the testpipe unless you run a DANSUCKS testpipe, then you'll have one a month later when the cat material falls out. Run a testpipe if you want, imo the car smells like a skunks *** with a testpipe but oh well.

Dave at SMS Products adds the welds to the heatshields for you. It is a completely bolt-up cat., and comes with all the necessary hardware. I have had no problems whatsoever with mine so far. HTH

I'd definately get a cat instead of a testpipe. I wish they made testpipes like they do in Japan. The had full stainless testpipes w/airholes in them with optional head shielding. No one has that here, unfortuneately.

Stupid fuggin' people around here, I swear. When I [edit] was, god-dammit, was [/edit] on my journey to find a gasket for my JDM header (other than the Legend donut I ended up ordering), I had no less than three fuggin' people ask me: "what dern car is dat header for, a Camaro?"

Couple more questions from me.

1) Does the carsound cat make the car sound like **** (say with the stock exhaust)? I can't stand hearing some of those cars that sound like a bumble-bee flying around.

2) What would be the problem with running a JDM cat with the jdm headers and a bigger cat-back? Or do they even have cats in Japan?

Thanks.

No.
Slightly deeper tone at idle. No rasp/buzz at all.

JDM cat? for less money you can have a larger 2.5" Carsound made to fit the JDM header/Stock ITR catback.

I've got the OBD I Godspeed Testpipe on my car and I like it. I like the complimentary CEL that comes with it too!
