Axle Installation help!
Hello friends-
I'm nearing the end of my h22a swap and i need some guidance:
I have searched quite a bit about reinstalling the axles but i haven't gotten much out of what i'm reading.
The c-clips; must they be pulled out (and then reinstalled) in order to slide the axle in?
Cause i've been kinda tappin/bangin at it with my rubber mallet for some time now and it just does not wanna budge..neither one of them do. I don't have a very good angle to put some muscle into it but this swap is starting to take its toll on my mental strength.
Someone please give me some detailed explanation regarding the installation process--preferably if you have done thsi before
If you need pics let me know and ill be glad to get them for you.

My passenger side had an issue going in. I know what you mean trying to muscle it in, but can't.
I used a piece of wood and a hammer. I put a piece of cloth over the axle boot and would hit one corner, then the other, back to the other side, then back to the other side. If possible, have 2 pieces of wood so that two people can hit them at the same time. Don't hit too hard but it should go in.
My driver's side was fine. It slipped right in.
I hope this helps. Maybe someone else has a better idea. That's all I could come up with.

Is it going partially in or not at all?
Have you tried turning the axle a little bit and seeing if it will go in?
Maybe the splines aren't aligned.
To answer your question, It should work w/o messing with the c-clip/snapring

i'll recheck the splines to see if theyre aligned.
its going in just barely, maybe an inch and stopping right there (driver side).
as for the passenger side i haven't even tried for too long to make that work until i get a good answer here.
are the splines keyed at all? i mean...it slides in but not too much.

No, they aren't keyed.
Check your splines, make sure they aren't bent or anything.
Check the tranny ones with a flashlight to and make sure you have nothing obstructing it's way in.
