bump for this topic. I would also like to know what kind of whp gains are t1r users seeing from the header, test pipe, and exhaust. Is tuning required for proper A/F ratio? Any info on this setup would be appreciated. Also, how much did you pay and from where? Thanks!!

Some feedback about T1R setup is discussed in this thread:

i have the jdm 4-1 header, sms cat, and t1r catback w/o bottlenecks. the sound is amazing, there is no raspyness to it at all.

i havent dynoed it so i dont know about gains. but as far as the butt dyno goes, its a holy **** thats a hell of a difference type of feeling.

jdm 4-1 = 200bucks from local
sms cat = 200 bucks from dave (smsp) on here
t1r catback = bascially traded my stock exhaust + 100bucks for it. i bought it for 500shipped and he bought my stock exhaust for 400. kinda overpayed but he was trying to cut me a hell of a deal, which he did

I run the JDM header, t1r testpipe and t1r cat back and I love it. I would like to get a better header in the future.

For the money, I think the T1R catback cannot be beat

I have the JDM 4-1 header, SMSP cat, and T1R catback exhaust. I infact have some rattling issues...i dounno where its coming from exactly, but it sounds like the resonator is hitting the heat shield. This only happens when i let my foot off the gas and the engine is vibrating like crazy, causing the entire exhauxt system to shake and rattle against other pieces. Any body else have this problem?

EDIT: This would be in a 00 gs-r btw

My exhaust rattled like crazy when in the beginning, right when i installed it. But it doesn't rattle as much anymore (maybe because everything is all evenly oiled up or something). From time to time, there will still be a slight rattle, especially when i go in reverse. Waiting for smsp to send me my new cat before i actually jack it up and take a look at it? black_aRR, does your cat happen to be throwing CEL's?

do you think the t1r 2.5" header to catback system is overkill on a stock gsr motor with only an intake?

i had no mods when i put on my entire exhaust system on. I say if u plan on doing some mods on your engine later, then go for it...better to spend the money now on something right then later
