Default Need help with a VTEC harness (mini me)

I found a guy selling an OBD-1 VTEC harness (92-95 civic), and I need that for my mini me swap. Right now I have a P28 from a 95 civic ex-v, and a rebuilt y8 head from an ek. Will this harness have everything I need compared to a conversion harness from say rywire.com? Also, what kind of distributor will I need?

So I shouldn't buy a Y8 dizzy then..? What are some candidates?

But more importantly, would this harness be all I need?

if you are going to use the p28 ecu then you will need the dizzy from a d16z6. i dont know if that will bolt up fine on a y8 head, because i have never done it.

THAT IS WRONG!!!

Ok, so you are going to be using a p28 (obd1) ecu and a y8 head (obd 2). Use a y8 distributor so that it will be a direct bolt on to the head. Obd 2 distributors will work on obd 1 ecus, and visa versa. Its only obd 0 distributors that do not work with obd1/2 ecus.

You need to tell us what will come on the conversion harness you are going to buy. If it includes the distributor adapter and subharness or not. I would stick to rywire.com, but thats just me.

If you are sticking to your conversion harness you found:
If it does not include the distributor adaptor, what you can do is go to rywire.com and order a obd-2 to obd-0 distributor adapter ($25) so you can hook up the distributor. Depending on what your conversion harness comes with, i would buy a subharness (from rywire.com, $55) so you can plug in the vtec solenoid, vtec oil thingy, and 4 wire O2 sensor. The subharness should plug into the main conversion harness.

if you use the y8 head you will need to swap connectors from a obd2 harness to some of the points on the obd1 harness so that it all plugs in.

Good job Mach69 for making that clear.

$25 for a distributor adapter is not that bad of a deal and will take some of the guess work out of the swap. Otherwise I would tell you to go find the obd2 clips at a junkyard.

Thanks so much for the help!! I'm not sure what's all in the VTEC harness, but it's supposed to be the whole harness, and it has some of the clips that the rywire kit wont have. The reason I want to buy it is the guy is selling it for $50cdn!! Ordering the rywire kit will cost me like 4 times that

I'll talk to the guy tomorrow and find out if it's complete or not. My friend knows him and says he's a good guy and all so I'll check it out. As for a dizzy my manager's bro has a Y8 dizzy for sale so I think I'm going to buy that.
