i was browsing autotrader to keep track of what 97 and 98 itr are pullin in these days, and i came across this one.

http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp....dptop

97 ITR with built H22. i was just thinking, who would have swapped the C5 engine for an H. maybee the engine got stolen and this was cheaper

Yes, I have heard of this swap before. It isn't as rare as one would think, but many stick with the bseries for it's lighter weight, displacement, LSD and more. The H22A does have some nice torque curves though.

I saw the same thing looking through autotrader. If you got the JDM tranny to match you could get the LSD as well.

An H22 can put down some wicked power without too much work. A gear driven LSD is easy to come by, and cheap.

Thats my buddies car that I built for him. Here is a link on here to the post https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1257886.

The previous owner put a hole in the original block and destroyed the head (saw both with my own eyes and nothing was worth salvaging). When my buddy bought it, I already had an h22 motor and tranny with 788 miles on it (yes that is correct, less then 1000 miles and I have pics of the prelude it came from). I also already had the hasport mounts and hasport wiring harness along with the correct stage 2 axles. So he bought the parts from me and I built the car for him. After a few months he was looking for more power and another buddy of ours had a built h22 motor, so he bought that and I swapped it in and tuned the car. The car runs really well and is way faster then my bolt-on ITR. I welcome anyone to come see and drive the car. He knows its not as valuable to most ITR enthusiats because it no longer has the b18c5, and I think its priced accordingly, but honestly the car has so much torque its crazy, driving his car makes mine feel dog slow. The car revs so quickly its crazy. The only thing that I like better about my ITR is the steering, with the h22 I couldn't use the PS pump without denting the frame to make room, so as it sits the car doesn't have PS.

This car could easily have a b18c5 swapped back in, I even saved the tranny mount so it could be welded back into the car if he ever wanted to go back to a b-series motor (something he is thinking about doing if he can't sell the car for what he wants).

I must quote this.

For those who have never seen coreys car in action against all the "B powered" cars, its an drap-jaw event! H22=good for integra

There are quite a few threads going in both all motor, hybrid, and drag racing sections here on HT about a "H2B" adapter plate where you can run your B tranny with a H or F block. I will be doing this soon. ITR tranny with a stout H22 would be pretty impressive.

How would the main shaft on the tranny engage the splines on the clutch? Will a custom clutch disc or something be used?

You retain use of the B clutch and flywheel. Theres an adapter for the flywheel.

HA! Dont you have a K motor in one of your cars?!?! You are one of them George!

I am looking to see how well this does in integras. At the We Todd event, we will see how mine does. My B18 is coming out as we speak.

You guys will make a thread about my car, but not bump my thread up? lol
I offered it to HT members first but i didn't get to much interest. I have gotten a lot on auto trader.
And yes this car rips and still drives nicely.

How much more do you guys think an H Series weighs? Not THAT much more.

chris - who thinks this would make for a wicked car w/ cams/h/e/tune in a lighter weight car (compared to 3000-ish 5th gen lude).

Please use the REPORT button for stuff like that. People don't mind lending a hand when somebody's clearly bashing a price or build without due consideration.
