6th Gen Short Shifter *NOT ADAPTER*
I finally was able to put my short shifter in from leanracing.com.
http://www.xclusivehosting.net/shortshift/
Took me about 3 hours total, but so worth it!
The only problem is, and this is when I had my stock shifter in also, when I go near redlining 1st gear then shift into second sometimes itll grind, and im not sure why. Is there anyway that since my rpms are so high it makes the shift harder to get into 2nd grear?

What's up man? I live about 20 minutes from you and I have the same exact car. I just got my GC/KONIs installed and I'm thinking about doing a short shifter soon. I actually cut my shifter down to about half it's original size, the throw on the stock shifter was ridiculous. We should hang out sometime and we can boast about our slow *** cars, lol jk....was it really worth all the time and money?
Hell yeah man, I love it. Plus, first time I took my car apart and put it back together and nothing was wrong lol leanracing.com worth the money considering its the only short shifter I know of for the 6th gens
Also, the metal on the shifter where you hook the cables up to sticks farther out than the stock shifter with the adapter so the throw is even more shorter

I really don't think the syncro's are effected as much as people say, why do almost all heavily modified cars have short shifters? Why would the risk having their tranny go to **** due to a shorter throw, I really want some proven facts that the syncro's will go bad, the only thing that I can think of that will cause the syncro's to go bad would be due to hard and fast shifting. Just my thought
how did you order the lean short shifter did you just go to the site and use paypal ??? b/c i tried to email then a bunch of times and they never responded to me????????? and how long did it take you to recieve it

theres a misconception about syncros, and frankly i find it ridiculous
a shirt shifter wont wear out the synchro, shifting harder/powershifting, etc is what burns out synchros...you can burn them out on a stock shifter just as easily. honda's trannies arent made cheaply at all. its simply a matter of designing something for its intended purpose. they werent designed to take 500whp....and im not sure what your talking about, because theres more than a handful of very high powered cars on here running stock transmissions......and frankly, ive seen very few cases of trannies failing when simply from handeling higher power....usually its from normal wear, or the axles break (which isnt the tranny anyways)

Honda does use cheap tranny's but there cheap compared to a Nissan's or Toyota's. Actually, Honda's are cheap cars period when compared to those other two brands, our engines don't even use cam bearings for gods sake.. they may be reliable and made strong, but just because your an enthusiast doesnt mean you have to stick up for the truth of them being cheaply made..

Just go ahead and order it. Took it about 4 - 5 buisness days to get to my house I beileve. If you send them your old stock shifter, you get 30 bucks back.

well, it's a simple matter of physics that makes the shift physically more difficult to engage while the engine is running at higher rpm's...it has to do with resistance of some sort...i read about it somewhere on here, but i'll have to search for it...give me a little bit and i'll give you the exact reasoning...

Actually NO.. I registered a long *** time ago.. Back when I was a huge ricer, I was into all of that crap. But now 2 years later, I am in no way affiliated with "rice" or any of that bullshit at all... I go for the clean/subtle look that strikes people in every race. Also, no I don't have a stock cat-back with a fart cannon, I have a stock catalytic converter and a 2.25inch pipe running back to a HKS hi-power muffler on my 91 Honda Accord lx 4dr 5spd which is getting a 92-93 front WITH oem fogs this weekend.. Just to let you know, those foglights are EXTREEMLY rare..

I was agreeing with you partially, it should be expected to loose the smoothness in your syncros when there's constant abuse in terms of shifting fast and intensely. However, I think normal, everyday shifting will not create a problem in your syncros. I find this hard to believe and even supposed factual basis from some outside source probably won't convince me either.
