on a stock engine would it be best to go with aftermarket H E 2.25 collector?
car is stock just a K & N drop in filter i want to put in a complete exhaust do i really need a 2.5 collector for the best gains or would a quality 2.25 system be
a good upgrade. No plans for any cams or bigger upgrades. I did search and learned alot but anyone with experience on this your comments would be appriciated. Thanks! Or would i be better off to leave it all stock as the gains would
not merit the cash spent?

i keep thinking i want to get this or that but when it comes down to it the stock drive and feels is still great after two years. just wondered if i would realy get 10 hp more with a full 2.5 exhaust that would be worth it. i know that the shock exhaust is like a cheap aftermarket one
Exhaust posts in ITR FAQ are good. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=766629
From experience with my car, I don't think its worth it just for performance, might be if you just want more noise. Either stay stock or do all together Intake, Header, Exhaust and tune it.

You are correct. Adding i/h/e mods without tuning can cause you to run lean, especially at WOT, and damage the pistons over time. Many exhausts won't deliver the 10hp without good tuning, and you're talking a lot of money. Stock R is really damn good car right out of the box!
You might consider putting the cash into track time and/or driving school. The R is great, but there's just nothing like it once you get it on the track.
Keep up reading and searching tho, you will learn a ton from this site!
Congrats on the R and welcome to the club.
