Difficulty removing CRX carpet.
I bought another CRX (a white one YAY) and am having trouble removing the carpet. I took the seats out, and unbolted the safety belts, took handbrake cover off and the centre console out too. Underneath the centre console is this metal frame thing so I'm not sure if I have to remove that too to get my carpet out. (It looks a little involved to try removing it....but I'd like to keep the carpet in one piece if possible)
The thing that is REALLY puzzling me is how to move/remove that little cluster that has the boot-release and fuel-cap release? It had one little screw that lets it move around a bit but i cant move it enough to be able to to slide the carpet underneath, or to pop it through? Does anyone know how its done?
Oh, yeah I also popped up the 2 plastic door jams, they were easy too.

you need to unclip the two plastic handles, which allows the cover piece to slide free. be careful not to crack the two handles when removing them, they are a bitch.
people usually just cut the carpet when stipping these cars for that reason.

doublethink,
So trying to pull the plastic handles off their shafts would not have worked then?
I tried look for some screws or something on the inside or underneath but couldn't see any.
Oh, and I'm pulling the trim to save myself some money, in that this car needs to be taken to a panel-beater to have some rust cut out...so I hope to save on labour costs.
