Default low CR pistons better for going turbo on LS?

ok well i was thinking instead of going LS-allmotor, turbo can be a better option, and since i was going to go into the block and put higher compression pistons, why not put low compression pistons for a nice turbo set-up and i found some srp pistons that would yeild a 8.5 CR in the LS motor, but then i was wondering can i still use my 403 cams and valve train? and would it be able to make more power than my stock LS cams? and is the low compression pistons better or should i just stick with the stock LS pistons ?

There's no reason to drop it that low. 9.2:1 is a pretty good ratio.

so basically if the condition of my internals are good(good compression test results) then I can go turbo 7-8 psi no prob ? or is there something I should do to the internals to be more safe ?

People have made around 300 whp on stock blocks if I recall, even higher on stock sleeves and aftermarket pistons/rods. It comes down to how much power you are making (not psi) and how well it is tuned. If your stock block is in good condition then you have POTENTIAL for decent numbers and reliability but it is heavily dependent on tuning and the quality of parts and assembly.

you should be fine with up to 10 psi as long as you get a good tune. Thats one of the most vital parts.. You could probably get to around 300 hp.
