Default question about pistons

i was wondering about forged pistons. if i get 9.2:1 forged pistons, staying stock compression in an LS, does that add horsepower or just more reliable pistons?

some pistons have been known to make alittlt more power but dont expect a huge gain from them . the reason they make any power is because they a have a better flame travel design and because of wieght ..which pistons are you planning on getting ?

i dont have any in mind. im saving for an LS swap, and would like to get about 200hp to the wheels SAFELY on motor. then i'll be happy with it. that would put me 8.7ish i think. if its not dependable to run high 8s, i dont wanna do it. would forged rods and pistons be necessary for that? if not, what mods would?

200 hp on stock compression is very doubtful you may want to raise it a bit . i carry arias and the only thing that is available off the shelf is 9.9:1 @81.5 bore or 12:1 @81.5 bore 12:1 is just a tad bit to much but with a thicker gasket it would be perfect for what you need. rods are'nt necessary but would be nice. you will also want to look into cams head work and a management system. give me a call i can supply you with everything you need .

taking out your stock 9.2:1 pistons and putting in a set of forged 9.2:1 pistons is pointless. it wont increase your power output at all.......

you want more compression for more power. select a piston with the highest avalible octane fuel avalible in your area. im sure everyone will recommend a minium of 11:1 which can easily be run on 91 octane.
