If you are going turbo you dont want to buy an intake or header because you will just buy another set for the turbo setup. If you want to start adding bolt ons now and re-use them later you may want to consider a supercharger, you can continue to use the header and exhuast you have and most intakes will bolt up to something like a Jackson sc.
If you can only afford to add things piece by piece, like me, you could add intake, then header/exhaust, then Hondata and when you are really ready Jackson race super charger. This entire setup will get you around 225 whp, with pretty good reliability.

That is right on the money for a 160 HP SAE Net motor, assuming you were on a Dynojet.
The best bang for the buck would probably be a modern, small turbo with moderate boost. Just add about 30 HP and be reliable.
Everybody loves to do swaps, but one thing always leads to another, and you can end up spending thousands more than you would have for the turbo. The low compression K20A3 motor just seems to beg for a blower.
A blower's not my way of doing things, but I have to admit that in the case of the K20A3, it's the sweet spot, best bang for the buck and reliable.
I see you already found Jack's thread w/the 7psi turbo. Very nice return for the money, don't you think? (Remember he uses a Mustang dyno for tuning. His figures aren't going to sound good if you compare them to a Dynojet.)

You can get the Jackson race setup for something around $3,000. I believe that is everything you need to get going, using their power card. Of course this does not include i/h/e/Hondata. So by the time you add that stuff in you are right at turbo pricing, but at least you can break up how much you spend at a time.

The Mustang works just as well as a tuning device, and I think I heard they could handle cars like the Evolution and STi before other dynos could.
It's just that their reported figures are lower than Dynojet, so you're almost ashamed to report the figures in Honda Tech threads.

The Mustang is a much more superior tuning device than a dynojet.
constant speed, vehicle simulation, constant load, variable load, etc....
dynojet is only good for WOT pulls, pretty useless for tuning IMHO
