B18C5 (for USDM) B18CR (for JDM). (B18C3?? for Europe?)
typeR only comes with VTEC engine.
LS-VTEC can be achieved with LS bottom end + VTEC head + etc.

Actually B18C is for JDM and I think the euro spec is B18c6.

The CRV B20 engine can also be "converted" to VTEC.

They don't make Type R engines for pre 95's. 96 was the first year in Japan.

GSR engines already have VTEC, but the Type R heads will switch over to a GSR block with no modifications.

GS-R head flows better than Type-r head, especially after full P&P. Gs-R head has less CCs though.

ya gsr motors are DOHC VTEC for 94-95. I guess if u want to avoid OBDII the only way would be to convert the wiring and pick up an OBDI ecu..its good in a sense, cuz it gives u an excuse to buy a Hondata lol.

Also, if u wanna avoid OBDII wiring, i think it would be better to pick up a JDM B18C-R motor, since they do not have OBDII. (or atleast this is my impression).
These are OBD-II also.

crxplus - Maybe you should browse http://www.vtec.net to get more information. All the basics are covered there.
