Default 200K miles and 200+ psi compression test? d16z6

i just did a compression test with my autozone compression gauge for the first time on my 92 si and the results were 209 209 211 213. i did seafoam regular and deep creep in an attempt to clean out any carbon build up that may have been keeping the compression high. the results afterwards were about 1psi lower across the board.
it seems really high for, well, any motor.
whats the deal?
i've used the guage one other time on another motor and it scored like 185 avg. i think.

I did one on my 99 si with 95,000 miles and my numbers were like 205,215,215,210..

I guess your car has just been taken care of

yeah that's little bit too high

EDIT: are you sure that the head wasn't milled, or block wasn't decked. Try to seafoam it over night.

I don't wanna sound insulting, but you DID unplug the distrubutor from the harness while you did the test, right?

I had a D16a6 stock block head milled .002 and it compression checked at 235 all even with the cam gear retarded 2 degrees. Dont seafoam it just let it go, carbon build up is your friend as long as it doesnt make your car "diesel"

to my knowledge the motor internals are all stock. i dont know if its been milled, but neither me nor the previous owner have owned it that long.
i didnt unplug the dizzy harness (because the wires are hidden and their a bitch to get out) but i took all the spark plug wires totally off (and took all spark plugs out, unpluged all injectors) while i was doing the test. is there a difference between that and unpluging the dizzy and leaving the 3 other spark plugs in while you try the 4th one?

It's just safer to unplug the dizzy.

the #s are sweet. my z6 had 143,xxx on it when i did my last pressure check. came back between 205-210 psi per cyl. its probably just got a little carbon in it, no big deal.
