Default Which setup for my EG6, boost or b18c6??

hi, i am going for more power from my eg6, it already has a b16 but i want more. I was thinking of Boost or a b18c6 or c5, looking for about 200-220 hp at fly.

Any suggestions on setups would be helpful. It will be driven on a daily basis and it will be driven hard 70-80% of the time

i would like to hit a 14.5 qtr mile with a stripped out car, at the mo it is 15.3

id say since your goals are not extreme, i would just boost what u have. In your case i would look at the greddy kit, it wont produce the highest numbers, but it will will meet/break alll your goals.

make your own kit, cheaper and you learn more, spend what you save on tuning

You could/should get a 14.5 1/4th time right now with a B16. Since you cant deside between boost and swap go with the outside choice and squeeze.

I tried like a hundred times man, my car is in good condition so no probs with that, it was a cold day and anyone with a b16 could not break 14's, the DC2R's were hitting 14.8 and one hit a 14.5 but had been fettled with

I need to be faster then a DC5R !!!!!! without nitrous

Whats your alttitude (sp?)? If your above sealevel you would have to do some math to find out your actual speed. Type Rs should be doing high 13s low 14s.

And why do you need to be faster then a type R? Also you could put so much money and power into your car but if you dont know how to drive it then you wont be going anywhere, learn to drive/drag/launch better then upgrade more.

Oh damn, he was trying to help. Don't be such an idiot. You asked an illegal question and you smack of greenhorn n00b. Quit with the insolent behavior and have some respect.

A B16 in a hatch should be hittin mid-high 14's with CAI and exhaust. i would say spray the B16. A NO2 kit + remote bottle opener + bottle warmer will cost less than a turbo and you meet meet or excede your time goals.

whats a b18c6?

now seriously i was thinking of a k series as a breakers yard has 2 of em, a jdm k20 and a uk k20, but the costs of putting it in i thought would be too high.

Any1 know what is involved? b18 just drops in on the usual mounts, the k series has to be mounted backwards compared to the b series so i dont know what i would have to do to get it in.

ARRGHHHH which one?????

220hp to the fly will easily exceed your goals. If you ar planning to do a swap and just go for straight beating on it every day. then i would go with type RRRRRR. hahha. but if you decide not to beat on it to much. i would go with turbo on your b16a with decent boost , but thats as long as you dont rip it all the time like your saying you will. So all in all for what you are wanting the type r will get your hatch/coupe in low 13's all motor with intake/header/exhaust/chip/drag radials. Guranteed if you are a good driver. Seen/done it many times.

cheers for the advice, i will go and buy the engine this week, hopefully he has still got it, i think turbo will not handle my punishment on a day to day basis and fuel costs would be high aswell. Genuine Honda parts sound good to me!!
