Default whistling sound at 4500 and up

I'm driving a stock civic, it's a 97 cx and it whistle at 4500 and above in every gear, just as if it was sucking air real hard. I don't have a cai and i'm not sure it's a good sound to hear. I've heard by some of my untrustworthy friends that a lot of civics do that. If they are right, what is that sound that i'm hearing.

People with short ram intakes have this. I have one so it usually happens around 3000rpm. If it's still stock then check your air fliter and check for air leaks.

my car had the same problem. I cleaned inside the lip of the TB and the whistle went away. I the build up I had in there was doing it.

You can also adjust your throttle screw which is just above the throttle body.

ken, what would adjusting the throttle screw do for snouka?

Snou, you should probably just check for leaks and maybe take apart your airbox assembly and see if there's buildup of anything anywhere or holes.
