My b17/ITR EF all-motor (re)build up thread (NO56K!)
SO... I've had this car as an ongoing project for the past three or four years. I bought it when it was stock, and have since put waaaaay too much time and money into it. Three engines later, here I am, still working on it.
Please keep in mind, I'm building this car to go fast, not to look good. I'll keep it at that.
Here is the car as it sits today. Engine-less 1990 civic DX:

and the cluttered interior:

Specs on the engine as of last year (and as it appears in this post):
-b17a1 block, crank, rods.
-ctr pistons (standard bore)
-PR3 itr head with mild head work
-itr valvetrain, ctr cams
-port-matched skunk2 manifold
-stock b16a TB, oil pump, water pump, dizzy, alt., etc.
-obd-ZERO pr3 ecu, socketed and tuned via turboedit.
Tranny:
92-93 integra GS-R ys1
ITR lsd
stock b16a clutch/flywheel
Pics of the engine hibernating:

Fifteen minutes later, ready to be transported to a friend's house for overhaul:

This setup is mild compared to some I've seen on here as daily drivers, but I've made a point of doing it "right" (whatever that means), and not cutting corners. I'm also on the budget of a starving college student, so obviously this isn't going to be some 300whp NA build.
Last summer I finally got the car running right for about two weeks, and then it began knocking one night. I spun a rod bearing. After draining the oil and removing the oil pan, there were NO flakes/chunks of metal to be found, and somehow the bearing seemed to spin around, then lock back into place (there was a deep scratch around the inside of the bearing). Visually, the bottom end looks like it's in fine shape.
So after pulling the valvecover and cams, my friend (some may remember him on here as Owen_the_soyboy
) noticed the rocker arm assemblies doing strange things.

Anyway, I didn't have access to a truck today, so I had the pleasure of transporting the engine the old-fashioned way.
My other civic, the "transportation vehicle":

A very nice fit....

And that's about it for now. I brought the engine to my friend, Joe's house where we'll be disassembling it to see where to go from here. I'll definitely keep this thread updated as we make progress.
Here is how the car looked last summer:

...and how it will look when it's done.
The plan is to keep everything the same, but get some more aggressive cams, and a good header. I'll be happy to hit 190whp.
Feedback and tips are welcome and appreciated.

Not a bad ride. I'll tell you right now with those mods you won't hit 190whp. Also, CTR pistons + B17 = very bad. But hey, each to his own, right?

Would you care to elaborate? I'm not challenging you, I'm just not sure I follow.

Yes sir, you do. Outside of cars, I spend my time doing rollerblade stunts.
Thanks for the words of encouragement, everyone.
