Default Help! My shift boots collar won't stay right under my shift ****!

I think it looks somewhat tacky because you see like an inch, sometimes two inches of chrome between the boot and the ****.

I was thinking about taking a zip tie but the shifter doesn't get much wider until about where the collar sinks. So maybe 8 or so zip ties on top of one another?

What do you all think?

try threading a nut on under the boot, or using a piece of hose jamed on under it on the shifter.

I just took a rubber band and wrapped it around the shifter as many times as I could until the rubber band was so streched out it hurt my hands to try and twist it and strech it over again. But anyways, the rubber band bulges up and creates something for the boot to grab onto.. Just force the boot up over the rubber band and it'll stay.
