Last night going home and notice my lights dimming to almost gone for a split sec when my foot hits the brake. So I'm like WTF? So I stop at a stop light and tap it a few times and yep it was doing it so is this my battery or my altenator, cuz which ever it is let me know cuz I need it fixed before 5 today and thanks again

you gotta check when running if you're battery is still putting out 14v if it is, then it is your alternator
or you could leave the car running and disconnect both terminals on the battery... if the car dies your alternator is bad... if not then check the battery
once the car is running it will stay running with or without a battery, if it just dims out and dies while running its your alternator. I've got a few alternators if you need one.

so if you have a good alternator....

NO NO NO NO
DO NOT DO THAT TEST
that was an acceptable test from the 60's, in a modern car the battery works as an amperage dampner for the entire electrical circuit. you can do serious damage by trying that.
take the car to autozone, have them test the battery and alternator. its free. it could be eithre.

so what would be the poor mans way of testing cuz last night if i hit the brakes real fast everything shuts off for a sec
well this is another perform at your own risk, but if its a 5 speed, just pop start it without the battery connected. I had a dead battery for about a week and I push started the car the whole week. its not really great for the clutch, but it'll tell ya if your alternator works.
or just take it to autozone.... it f'in free.

NO again! jesus!
do not remove the battery from the charging system. i dont know how to make this any other clearer
YOU CAN FRY YOUR ECU BY RUNNING WITHOUT A BATTERY
even a dead battery still abrosbs the spikes from the alternator.

yes please do this... if you do not know about electrical/charging systems which you seem not to... please do not do any of those makeshift tests... just follow KARMIN and take it to autozone and get it tested free
