Default Someone with a Helms please help me out (tranny bolt size)

Hey I have a helms manual but some of the pages are missing. I just need to know what size the bolts are that hold the tranny against the block so I can buy some and put my motor on the engine stand. Thanks.

when i did mine, i used the same bolts used to hold the transmission and engine together for the stand. i'm not sure about the threads but i think they were 17mm bolts.

Unfortunately, the Helms manual doesn't typically list bolt thread sizes.

Looks like trial and error for you.

Yeah....I'm looking in my Helms for you right now. Doesn't tell you the thread size. From the looks of the others, might be either a 1.0 or a 1.25.

Sorry can't be of more help.

Grade 8/10 bolts are cheap. They make great collector's items.

2 Transmission Bolt [12x1.25x65]
3 Transmission Bolt [12x1.25x70]
2 Transmission Bolt [12x1.25x50]

Everything's in metric....the last number in each sequence is the length in mm's.

Use Grade 10.9 (metric equivalent of grade 8) flange bolts.

If you just want to order them from a dealership, I can give you the part numbers (since they don't seem to exist on the parts diagrams). They're not that much considering that getting thtem from the hardware store will cost you the same amount if not more.

Oops...engine stand application. For the bottom mounts, use 1/2" x [whatever thread pitch] x 4.5" with the appropriate 1/2" nut and washers.
