Crankshaft pulley question on installation searched but nothing
on my 95 gsr, im putting the crankshaft pulley back on the crankshaft, but which way does the pulley sit, with the back of the keyway sitting flush with the motor or on the outside.
this should help you...

but if I'm understanding your question correctly, then "the back of the keyway" should sit flush against the motor.

it helps but not rle cuz that could be the keyway for the alternator pulley, and i was thinkin that if the keyway for the crankshaft pulley is sloped and there is a keyway for the alternator pulley, then would the crankshaft pulley have to sit with the end facign out because then the alternator pulley keyway would slide into the crankshaft one?
ok, I'm not real sure what your saying. Let me see if I have this right.
Your questioning which way the lower timing belt gear (#14 in the picture above) should go back onto the crankshaft, correct? I'm not real familiar with B18's, I only helped a friend do his timing belt on his LS once and I can't remember but... look on the face of the gear. Do you see a little dimple on it? It's probably only going to be on one side. It's what you use to line the crank up when replacing the timing belt. Just put the side with the dimple away from the motor so you can see it when you look at it from the side for lining the crank up to put the new timing belt on. Then just just put the pulley on the way it looks in the picture.

yes but if you look at number 14 the little keyway is built into the gear itself not like the alternator puley where it can fall out, i was just wondering which way it sat
I guess I'm just not understanding what you mean.
Doesn't the pulley have a keyway just like the #14 gear. I don't get what you mean by "not like the alternator pulley where it can fall out". Are you saying that the key can just fall out?
Do you have a camera so you can take a picture of what your talking about?
