need some quick help
I was driving down the road today and I heard a awful thumping sound, I got out and my alternator belt was gone and I noticed the pulley it goes over had come loose.what pulley is the lower most pulley? I don't know if my car will be ok. Also I don't belive the timing belt is connected to this pulley. Its a 95 civic lx by the way.

the pulley from the alternator came off? the only other pulley it attaches to is the crank pulley and you would know if that fell off. get a new alternator, a new belt and you should be set.

Re: need some quick help
It had to be the crankshaft pulley. It is right near the oil pan. It is the lower most pulley on the motor. It looks as if there should be some sort of knub that sticks off from the gear piece where the pulley mounts but if there was one it is gone.

your crank pulley fell off? holy cow. you timing belt isnt directly connected to your crank pulley, but the pulley is connected to the crank which is held on by the crank pulley. were you able to find your crank pulley?
