So why dont u have the buyer pay for the shipping. That size and weight needs to be mounted on a pallet and strapped down really well.

$600 to ship a block? That sounds real expensive.
I don't really have any experience shipping anything that heavy, but most companies that sell COMPLETE motors only charge $300-$400 shipping, don't they? (i've never actually had a motor shipped TO me, either, so I'm not sure)

I dunno, do a Google search for another freight shipping companies or contact someone like Hmotorsonline and maybe they'll tell you what company they ship with?

i would call ABF or DATS, they are mainly ur best bet for cali. tell them they have to pick it up unless u know someone with a forklift at a buissness address, u need to get the block weight , probly get it off off any website, honda might even know. do a search, but anyway. do the block weight and weight of the pallet, if its off the company will just charge u the extra. i recommend doing it a buisness its cheaper. so they don't have to bring a truck out with a gate. and make the other guy pay for shipping i know i would...

see if theres a forward air near you and him.. If there is shipping will be under 100 bucks.. Go to http://www.forwardair.com and get the customer service number. You'll have to crate it up ( not a big deal just get a wood pallet and stick some walls on it) Its like 50 bucks every hundred pounds.. The block will weight about 100 lbs.. The only catch to shipping through this place is that you have to drop it at one of their locations and pick it up there... SO call them up and see what they can do for you

There's a write up on HT for everything:

even tells you who he shipped with...
