Re: Shipping a block. (Mik3)
if i were you i would use fedex. ups sucks and dhl is just horrible. i work in the shipping department of a company and you would not believe how bad some of the packages we recieve. looks like they fell off the truck..a couple times. if you do send it ups just pack it extra well.

That linked thread is insane. That's waaaaay too much effort to **** a block. It's not like they're that heavy or bulky.
I shipped a sleeved D16 through fedex for $38. I just threw it in a large box that was lined with pink fiberglass insulation. I used almost a whole roll of the insulation. I don't know what it costs because I found the un-used roll in my attic
***EDIT***
OMG! I just realized that I said "**** a block" instead of "ship a block!" I would change it, but it made me laugh so hard I think I'll leave it.

Re: Shipping a block. (Boostage)
i shipped my block from ct to camp in cali for just under 55 bucks. i did what they said to do on ge's site. plywood on top and bottom and then bubble wrap on top the the block in the middle. then just packed cardboard on the sides. the only thing different i did was use a 18x18x18 box.

I make a living on ebay and ship stuff out almost everyday. I can tell you from experience, fedex is the cheapest shipping method PERIOD.
