Default Front Speaker Wiring problem

Hey,

I'm running into a problem installing my new front speakers to replace the stock ones on my 2000 civic si. It has factory tweeters as well. When replaced, the front speakers are extremely quiet and are not playing the full range of sound.

The dude at best buy told me that theres a factory crossover on the car for the tweeters and the speakers, but didnt know where to find it. I was wondering if there is this crossover and where it would be? Alternatively, should I just run new wiring from the speaker to the deck harness? I'm trying to avoid this option if possible.

Or is this not the solution to my problem?

Thanks for your help

Is it still the stock HU? There may be a diff. in output with aftermarket speakers but it should not be very noticable, and as far as I know, the only x-over on Honda/Acura comp. speakers is a cap for the tweeter, or cap and coil, have not seen a H/A with anything more, I would check and make sure that the speakers are in phase, [that they are wired properly pos. (+) to pos. and neg. (-) to neg.] you can check here for color codes, http://www.installdr.com, one more thing, if it is a stock HU, it would make a bigger diff. in SQ to replace the HU then installing aftermarket speakers, even very good speakers 94
