Default need a HO alternator fast!

Its taken me 4 yrs & 66k miles & 1.5kws to officially destroy my oem alternator. I need suggestions for an 01 dc2 gsr alternator that will power a system no less than 2000 watts. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Who can do that sort of job? Is it reliable?

Check at your local alt. shops, they can tell you how much bigger, [more output] the stock alt. can be rewound to, it's about 10%, maybe a little more, it's limited by the case size, they will also have "bigger" alt. in stock, don't forget an amp that is 1000 watts RMS with 50% efficiency draws about 160A at peak output, [not all the time, probably averages less then half of that, depends on how loud you play it] your going to need a 200A or bigger alt., if you want it to keep up with a 2000 watt system 94

i figured that all along, with the 200amp+ alts. does anyone have experience, or recomendations of alternators with this capacity?

Just received my alternator from alterstart in the mail. Looks mighty nice. Won't be installed for about 2 weeks but, they cleaned it up real nice, re-built it to 150 A and they also give a test sheet with it showing the amount of amps produced at the rpm intervals.
